Then after using the phone for a week, I can see a faint line in the top of the screen which I find quite weird since I haven't used the phone at max brightness nor had whatever static images for long periods of time. I'd simply like to know if this is something other people have experienced with their devices? At that place's also a slight green hue with white screen which is absent at the bottom of the screen. I only noticed information technology considering of a blackness wallpaper that showed that in that location's really a constant notification bar in the launcher screen.

Ok and then you assume that this definitely is a defect? Also bad.. it's actually really faint, but since I've seen information technology, information technology'south ever there. The domicile button from AOD is the most notable, varying by the effulgence.

Is it burn in or ghosting?

If yous are unsure nigh if your brandish is burning in or showing ghosting or both, use a full screen gallery app like QuickPic. Get a greyness epitome and view it. With ghosting you volition immediately see the navigation buttons but they will fade (scroll about to a few other images to assist information technology fade), if they don't fade, well the display is probably burning in. You tin easily download the checkerboard pattern with a google search.

Thanks for your reply, I also have a suspicion that it might be due to the fact that I used navbar to make the navigation bar entirely black, making the navigation bar "non to burn down in" so to say. I disabled that and will see if this has whatsoever upshot. I also disabled the home button on AOD. If information technology is burn in information technology is extremely light still, and only visible with gray backgrounds. I accept a feeling that it might be fading abroad, or my eyes are merely starting to give up :)fingers-crossed:), the latter probably the amend since I hate to be this nitpicky.. :silly:

Also I haven't read about anyone else suffering from this light-green tint/hue at the pinnacle of the screen. Information technology'southward non then prominent when I lower the green values or when the screen is dimmer. It's this light-green stripe that sort of leaves this completely white gap betwixt the bezel. Not very easy to explain but it is piece of cake to distinguish with white backgrounds. Information technology about looks equally if the console isn't aligned properly and a line of pixels is "out of bounds". Weird if I'grand actually the only one with this symptom..

It's because that Samsung S8 and S8+, have problems with some wallpapers. I go a faint condition bar on for examples some wallpapers, because of their aspect ratio. So if information technology's that, endeavour out the inbuilt wallpapers as they don't get this problem. Don't become a flip, if it'south not that you ment!

Try and take a screenshot. Merely say Howdy Bixby, take a screenshot.

I wish information technology was, though the green hue is noticable on completely white and grey backgrounds. I did discover what you lot mean though when I used a blackness wallpaper that had this weird bar at the top.

I get that as well on some black wallpapers, simply if i use a builtin black theme the strange oversaturated nighttime bar disappears.. and when I take screenshots the bar stays on the screenshot.. and so it's not the screen having prob..

Yea, but I'chiliad talking near whites now. With a solid white background the summit has this dark-green line, not with blacks.

try to screenshot it if the green line appears on the paradigm when you scroll around..

if you zoom in on the left office you lot will notice a slight over saturated bar.. but on the original wallpaper there isn't.. it only comes out when I employ wallpapers that are not built in on the theme.

Update on my situation, I sent the phone to service heart through my provider. We'll see if they see what I run across. Information technology feels and so bad to be abroad from my Samsung.. I hope they treat it well. Will update in one case I go updated.
  • #16
I'm quite surprised but today I got an update on my situation. They swapped the screen and bombardment so my concerns seem to have been justifiable. I'thousand pitiful that I couldn't replicate or go a flick of my problem.
  • #17
Now received the phone, new problem arose. The so called "light drain" that many accept been complaining almost, but for me it's literally everywhere. It'southward in the receiver, in all corners and all sides. Damn, such a shame to be sending my phone to service all the time.. Guess I won't be touching any curved screens anymore.

Edit, And to all those who say the calorie-free bleed is normal, I didn't have it before the service so I am certain it is a defect or misalignment of the screen.

Got my telephone dorsum from the service today. They said that the calorie-free bleed is normal and should be expected with "edge" screens. Notwithstanding every bit a precaution they swapped the screen once again. Now I have to deliberately await to notice the same problem, so on that behalf problem solved. What they didn't manage to set is the uneven greens. The screen is quite uneven from summit to bottom. Darker at the bottom, lighter at summit. Really don't want to send this fixed once again so I'm pretty sure I just try to live with it and encounter if it really bothers me with my normal usage, videos etc. I do know that this issue is really common with amoleds (speaking from experience.)
  • #xix

Um... That's exactly why it happened. Yous need to empathise what "burn in" is. It's non called-for at all. Just that amoled pixels lose brightness and colour the more fourth dimension they are used. That'due south all. And so if you have a status bar as blackness, it volition non be losing its brightness but the residue of your screen will. So basically you burned in your screen. Really the screen is e'er called-for in, the cardinal is to arrive burn in uniformly. That'south why leaving AOD on without it moving would burn the time in, because the lit pixels are decaying while the residual of the screen isnt
